Dear,
I'm a little confused about the next 2 options:
a) https://lava.readthedocs.io/en/latest/user/advanced-tutorials/running-arbitr...
b) https://lava.readthedocs.io/en/latest/admin/basic-tutorials/device-setup/doc...
It seems they both run a docker container on pc, what's the difference between them? Could one replace another? What I expect to get is something like: for xx scenario, you need to use option a, while for xxx scenario, you need to use option b.
Thanks, Hedy Lamarr
Hello,
this two different use cases.

In this case, when flashing, booting or testing a board, LAVA will run the tool for deploying, booting or testing from inside a docker container instead of using the host tools. With this feature you can use a custom version of fastboot that is provided as a docker container.
b)

In this case, the device under test is actually a docker container that lava will deploy, boot and test. Just like a board or qemu device-type.
