Hello lava users,
my lava 2019.01 shows me a device with Health == Bad. The Transitions log give that message: March11, 3:02p.m.
lava-health
Good → Bad (Invalid device configuration)
Where can I found information about a misconfigured device? The log files did not provide (in my eyes) sufficient information.
As Health checks I use the smoke-tests.
Kinds Regards, Matthias
Hello Frank,
on the server you could run: "lava-server manage check --deploy" This will run some checks on the current setup. This will also check that the health-checks that you provide are valid job definitions.

Hi Rémi,
thank you for your answer.
This commands says same like the WebUI: Invalid configuration. But where can I found information what’s wrong? I did not found any parser or validator output which shows me the error.
Greetings, Matthias

Hello,
you can test all device config using: /usr/share/lava-server/check-devices.py --device-types /etc/lava-server/dispatcher-config/device-types --devices /etc/lava-server/dispatcher-config/devices
Cheers

Hello Rémi,
check-devices.py prints no error, only the list of ma devices.
But validate_devices.py has some interesting output:
validate_devices.py --instance <instance-name> qemu01: {Valid: null} qemu02: {Valid: null} device01: Invalid: !!python/object/apply:lava_scheduler_app.schema.SubmissionException - !!python/object/apply:voluptuous.error.MultipleInvalid args: - - &id001 !!python/object/apply:voluptuous.error.Invalid args: [extra keys not allowed] state: error_message: extra keys not allowed error_type: null path: [device_type] state: errors: - *id001
This is a first indication, but it did not give a concrete hint what is misconfigured.
Matthias

Issue fixed in private conversation: the device configuration should not have "device_type" key anymore.
